Tongue Twisters
One of the funny things about talking is how normal words can be impossible to say when sped up. Whether it’s the seashell-selling she (try saying that 5 times fast) or the pepper-pickling Peter Piper (try saying that 5 times fast), you can get your whole family tongue-tied till they’re all speechless. At the end of a long day, that might be a blessing.
So how many times can you say a really tough tongue-twister? Let’s test your skills and count it up.

Questions
Wee ones: Try saying “toy boat” really fast over and over. If you say it 4 times, then get tongue-tied, then say it 3 more times, how many times did you say “toy boat”?
Little kids: You say “red leather, yellow leather” 5 times fast, then you take a breath and say it again twice as many times as that. How many times do you say it in total? Bonus: If you get really good and say it 24 times fast, and get tangled up on only 7 of them, how many times did you say it right?
Big kids: Try saying “Swiss wristwatches” over and over. If you say it 27 times fast and get it right 1/3 of the time, how many times do you say it right? Bonus: If you’re superfast and can say it right 7 times in 12 seconds, how many times is that per minute?

Answers:
Wee ones: 7 toy boats.
Little kids: 15 times total. Bonus: 17 times correctly.
Big kids: 9 times correctly. Bonus: 35 times in a minute, because it’s 5 stretches. But beware: saying it right for a whole minute straight is a totally different thing!
